Active proudly supports the annual charity boxing match

Media Fight Night (MFN) 2024, the annual charity boxing event that brings ad land together to battle it out and raise money for charity, took place this year at Park Plaza Westminster in London on Thursday, 7th November. The event was also live-streamed to the masses via Twitch, extending the audience beyond the 1500 ad landers in the room.

Since its inception in 2015, Media Fight Night has raised over £1.4 million for Carney’s Community, a youth club dedicated to transforming the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This year it also supported Off the Ropes, a mental health charity that empowers young people and adults through boxing.

Once again, Active sponsored the event and provided Active branded hoodies to all the fighters.

This year’s line-up featured 16 prominent media professionals from brands and agencies across the industry. These fighters included: Seun Odeneye (IPG Media Brands), Paul Evans (sixtyForty Marketing), Amanda Rosevear (ALF Insights), Leigh Yoxall (PHD Media), Wayne Mensah (Time Out), Charlotte Ford (Diversity Media Sales), Kenny Maxwell (Mean Broadcast), Hannah Marshall (IPG Media Brands), Xavier Keenan (Ocean Outdoor), Mira Childerhouse (Warner Bros Discovery), Gareth Cross (The Telegraph), Dory Tse (Rakuten Advertising) and Mark Burborough (The London Standard)

The night went with a bang, with a group from Active and their guests cheering on the fighters.

Money raised

We are delighted to report that the total raised from the night is £285,000—the highest amount raised in a single event to date.

Abbi Jeffery, co-founder of Media Fight Night, said:

‘We’re extremely proud of our partnership with Active International. They are a partner that has been instrumental in the event’s success both from a fundraising and participation perspective, and our achievement of raising over £285k this year wouldn’t have been remotely possible without their support. The entire team are advocates of the event and passionate about what we are trying to achieve for the charities we work with, and we are eternally grateful for everything they do.”

She continued: “Thanks to Active’s support, we are thrilled to share that we raised an impressive total of £285,000 for the grassroots charities we support—our highest amount raised in a single event to date! This brings us even closer to reaching the £2 million milestone we’ve set for next year’s 10th anniversary celebration.”

Laura Learmouth, who fought in 2022, commented:

“What an incredible night of boxing, raising over £285k for Carney’s Community and Off The Ropes. This achievement is nothing short of extraordinary. A massive shoutout to Abbi Jeffery, John Maloney, and the abbi&me team for orchestrating another brilliant evening. And, of course, a huge round of applause for the boxers who inspired us with hours of training and dedication to put on an incredible show. You have shown us what relentless effort and passion can achieve. Media Fight Night constantly proves how the media industry can come together to make a real difference.”

We look forward to helping make Media Fight Night even bigger and better for next year’s 10th anniversary.
