Background

Alan is a chartered accountant with a broad-based business background, including 14 years at Deloitte supporting growth-driven subsidiaries of overseas groups, Global Financial Controller for the outsourced IT Production at UBS Warburg, before opting for a dramatic change of environment at an internet start up.

He also has a sense of humour, which is probably why he’s still here after 16 years.

Initiating her time at Active in 2003, Lana is an ACCA-qualified accountant and holds a master’s degree, with distinction in International Economics.

In May 2016, Lana was given the responsibility of Strategic Planning for Active’s International division, which eventually became a Global FP&A role in 2018 with the inclusion of the US Operations.

Lana is responsible for the roll out of various finance focused, operational processes across the company.

Background

After two years in media, learning about corporate trade and advertising, Lana moved into the Finance department and became an ACCA-qualified accountant. She became head of finance in the UK in 2011. In 2013 the UK office introduced the position of Financial Planning & Analysis, which was given to Lana to develop. In order to further her understanding and development of the role, she studied for an MBA at the Edinburgh Business School, which she completed in December 2015 (with distinction). In May 2016, Lana was given responsibility of Strategic Planning for Active’s International division.

Darren Riley, Senior VP Director international media and account management, International Division

Darren joined Active in 1995 as VP of international media. His scope grew in 2000 to Senior VP, Director of International Media and Director of International Account Management and Client Services.

Darren is responsible for all International Media operations. He is the central media data resource for the International Division.

Michele joined Active in September 1996 and has successfully held 8 different positions in her 22+ years at Active

As VP of Finance, Michele works alongside Alan Cummings overseeing the Finance functions of the International Division as well as an additional finance support for the directors around the globe.

Before joining Active International in 2003, Christian Kirschbaum gained international sales and management experience as managing director in Spain and the UK. In the following time at Active he was the most successful Sales Director of the International Division for four consecutive years before he became Managing Director of Active in Germany in 2011. Since 2017 he has been SVP International Sales and Business Development on the International Management Board of the International Division.

In his current role he is responsible for the sales management of all international offices and the networking and optimization of global marketing solutions. With his many years of experience, he coordinates global sales activities between the international offices.

In his free time, he loves running, windsurfing and the world of wine.

Ken joined Active International in 2018 to continue Active’s roll-out of a robust internal planning and forecasting system.  Ken has a hybrid background in both Information technology and accounting.  He has an undergraduate degree in Accounting, is a Certified Management Accountant, and holds a Master of Science in Information Systems.

Before joining Active International, Ken worked at a variety of companies including Ernst & Young, KPMG, Reckitt Benckiser, and Jaguar Land Rover in various roles including accounting, information technology, and financial systems.  Ken is excited to leverage all aspects of his background in supporting our internal planning and forecasting system as well as building a robust internal reporting platform.

In his spare time, Ken enjoys downhill skiing, taking spin classes, playing guitar (although not in public!), travel, and family.
